Uncomfortable for the four-legged is considered the weather, in which the thermometer rises above 25-30 degrees. The color of the animal matters - black cats and cats suffer from heat more, and the point, of course, is not superstition. The breed is important - Siberians or Maine Coons, bred in cold regions, have a harder time in summer. And, of course, the time spent under the sun plays a role - a short trip in carrying a bicycle in the heat is not equal to a whole day. Do not forget that at risk are kittens, elderly animals, pregnant cats, pets with cardiovascular diseases.

Know your place


With cats in the heat it is much easier than with dogs - at least they do not need to be taken out twice a day. But a heated stuffy apartment is not the best place for a pet. The easiest and most technological way out is air conditioning. But there are some nuances: you must ensure that the temperature is not too low, otherwise you can catch a cold pet. If you turn on the fan, take care of safety: the animal should not have direct access to it. Do you want to do without technology? See where your apartment has a cool place. Perhaps this is a room with dark curtains, not facing the sunny side. Bathroom or kitchen with stone tiles on the floor. But the cold floor can also cause colds, so your pet will need a rug, optimally - on a gel basis, it heats up less.

Water element


People in the heat run to the shower as soon as possible, but this will not work with animals: frequent bathing reduces the protective functions of the skin and hair. But it is also impossible without water at all - in extreme heat, you can moisten the animal’s paws to the knees with a wet towel, wipe the back of the head, the outside of the ears, and pet your wet hands with a wet coat.



The liquid should be not only outside, drinking regimen is important - place bowls with clean water around the house or buy a car-drinker, this will help prevent dehydration. But if you don’t have to persuade dogs, cats rarely and rarely drink. A wet food can save the situation: it allows you to maintain water balance in the body of the animal. Alternate it with dry - wet in the morning and evening, dry in the afternoon. In the heat, proper nutrition is of particular importance, because the animal’s body is harder to work with. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to give cats products from our table containing salt and spices: this increases thirst and overloads the kidneys. Dogs and cats do not have sweat glands on their bodies, so they are much more susceptible to overheating than humans, and fluffies occur ten times more often in furry dogs. The main symptoms are fever (from 38.6 degrees in dogs and from 39 in cats), shortness of breath, trembling, reddened whites of the eyes and a bright red tongue. Convulsions and vomiting may occur. At the first suspicion, take your pet to a cool dark place, wrap it with a damp towel and water your head, stomach and groin with cool water. Drink your pet often, but in small portions. If the condition is serious, and the temperature has risen above 40, you must call a veterinarian.

For the first time, little Lilibet saw them in the house of her parents' friends, where they often visited, and fell in love completely and irrevocably. We decided to find out why Corgi is so attractive and why it is worth having them if you do not have a pet yet.
They are very compact and grab everything on the fly.

If we talk about, for example, Welsh Corgi Pembroke and Welsh Corgi cardigan, they reach 30 cm at the withers and easily “fit” even into a small studio apartment. They are balanced. A benevolent character, but they will never give offense to those who are considered their family (or flock). These dogs are intelligent and easily trained - it’s enough to repeat a command with them a couple of times that they clearly learned it. If we talk about age, then Corgi is ideal for both young people and couples with children - they will find a common language with absolutely everyone and will soon become universal favorites.

They are true companions

This breed of dogs was originally conceived as a shepherd, so the Corgi were always close to people, showing friendliness and willingness to carry out any commands. They are absolutely not aggressive, but curious enough, so be prepared for the fact that they will follow you literally on their heels, stuffing their nose into the most interesting, in their opinion, places. You can not be afraid to leave children with them - for the Corgi, the family (or rather, all members of their “pack”) is an object of love, tenderness and adoration.

Do not forget that this is an English breed and, like real English, Corgi are "intrusive" in moderation. In other words, they, of course, show joy, are affectionate and require attention, but if they notice that you are very busy with something, they will show all their upbringing and will patiently wait until you are free. And, believe me, they will not get on the nerves of your neighbors with their loud barking or howling near the front door, the Corgi are generally more likely to quietly grumble or mutter to themselves - just like old-fashioned wise men, but by no means will bring you and those around you any noise. The only thing they don’t want to show moderation in any case is food. Therefore, try not to overfeed these cute gluttons, otherwise then you will have to urgently bring them into shape.

They do not require special care.

Corgi wool, for example, does not require any close attention - it does not need to be cut or laid in a special way on a regular basis; they don’t need additional “clothes” like smooth-haired dogs and so on. The only thing you may need, especially during molting, is a special comb and a little time to comb out your pet.

They are indifferent to interior items and your slippers.

Unlike other dogs, even in puppyhood, Corgi remain indifferent to any items, including your shoes. They will not want to touch your curtains or “remodel” the interior for themselves. It’s enough to buy your pet a few rubber or rope toys at the pet store, and you can leave the Corgi at home alone with a calm soul - he just won’t blow it.
